    The department was established after careful research and analysis, based on the following background.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u25ce National Development<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    The financial industry is the core of a country's economy and the bloodline of industry. In recent years, the financial industry in\u00a0Taiwan\u00a0has been booming. However, this industry is highly regulated by national laws and regulations. Therefore, there has been a high demand for finance legal professionals in the employment market.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u25ce Market Segmentation<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Many departments of law have been established in Taiwan higher education, especially many departments of financial law.\u00a0However, no special attention has been paid to this area of finance legal affairs.<\/strong>

    \nOur department focuses on the cultivation of financial legal affairs personnel, and differentiates itself from other financial law departments in the marketplace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u25ce Our experience in implementing grouping<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    In the\u00a02009-10 academic year, the School adopted group teaching,\u00a0 divided into financial law group, economic and trade law group, administrative law group, and social law group.\u00a0 Many professional faculty members have been recruited for this.\u00a0<\/strong>

    \nBased on the experience of grouping, the\u00a0School finally developed the most competitive departments: the Department of Financial Law and the Department of Law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u25ce Evaluation of Student Qualifications<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Nationwide, the students admitted to Schools of Law are average on the whole,\u00a0so the department focuses on planning for the future development of its students.<\/strong>

    \nThe Department does not focus on the Judicial and Bar exams as the only pathway, but rather on the more open market of basic business and\u00a0finance legal\u00a0professionals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u25ce Cooperation with existing resources of our school<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Since the\u00a0Ming Chuan College days, we have been famous for training business management talents.\u00a0The School of Management developed rapidly since the institution\u00a0was transformed into a university, with strong faculty and abundant resources.\u00a0Since the establishment of the School of Law,\u00a0there has been close cooperation between the two Schools.<\/strong>

    \nThe\u00a0Financial Law program requires not only legal expertise, but also basic knowledge of finance\u00a0and banking.\u00a0Therefore, we can cooperate with each other and share resources.<\/strong>

    Since its inception, the Department has been striving to become a specialized educational\u00a0unit in Taiwan that nurtures legal professionals with a combination of legal and financial knowledge.\u00a0Therefore, the faculty members of the Department are all from\u00a0renowned\u00a0universities in\u00a0Taiwan\u00a0and abroad.\u00a0Each has a high level of enthusiasm for teaching and research.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>

    \u25ce Future Development<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Originally founded on management and finance as the basis, our university's\u00a0School of Law\u00a0originally emphasized the planning of finance and commercial law courses. With the changes in society and the country's need for specialized legal talent, the Department of Financial Law was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a bachelor's program in 2005 and a master's program in 2013, to cultivate legal talent with higher levels of professionalism. In the future, the\u00a0School will\u00a0prepare for a Ph.D. program in financial law and a Ph.D. program in legal studies, to construct a complete and in-depth legal education framework.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Message from Director Wu Pey-Chun to Fresh Graduates<\/strong><\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    First of all, welcome all students to enroll in the Department of Finance and Law at Ming Chuan University.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Although this is a letter from the department head to the freshmen, our university's purpose is \"the students of others are our own children\", so let me talk to you as if I were a parent and share with you my expectations and encouragement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    As a parent myself, the most important quality I demand from my children is a sense of responsibility. Apart from being responsible for your own learning as you enter college, you also need to be responsible for your own future, your loved ones, and the society that nurtures you. While today's young people are lively, creative and full of ideas, creativity does not emerge out of nowhere. Most of us are not geniuses, and it is challenging to go from \"zero\" to \"one.\" However, if you can learn from existing knowledge and build upon the foundation of others, it will be much easier, as you can stand on the shoulders of giants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    As you enter the Department of Finance and Law, which is a interdisciplinary program that combines finance and legal fields, it is important to establish a solid foundation in the basics of both legal and financial knowledge. If you study hard and seriously, you will acquire more abilities and skills compared to others. However, if you don't put in the effort, you may end up being less proficient than those who specialize in a single field. It's like being a jack of all trades but master of none. So, it's up to you to determine your future position and level of expertise.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    My specific suggestion is to start by writing your own time-traveling script. Imagine sitting in a time machine and traveling through time and space. Don't go too far, just travel three or four years into the future. Think about what you want to see in yourself at that time. Then you should shape yourself and work towards that direction. Remember to seriously think about where you will be in three or four years, instead of just thinking casually. Although it is an old saying, being cautious in everything is essential. Your future depends on the choices you make now. These are just some basic attitude issues, but they are the fundamental and most important factors for success, namely, responsibility and learning ability.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The role of a teacher is to impart knowledge, provide instruction, and resolve doubts. In the future, if you encounter any uncertainties related to academic work, exams, clubs, interpersonal relationships, academic or career development, and so on, the department head, advisors, and all the teachers in the department are here to help and share with you. Some of us are available and waiting for you to come and discuss with us.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
