Strengthening University-Enterprise Legal Exchange and Deepening Cross-Strait Integration and Development

On October 16, the expert and scholar delegation from Taiwan’s universities attended a seminar at Yingke Xi’an Law Firm as part of the 11th Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week.

Professor Yang Jun-Yi from the Department of Financial and Legal Studies, Ming Chuan University, represented the College of Law at the seminar.

Attendees included:

  • He Xiaobing, Assistant Party Secretary of the Law Firm’s Party Committee
  • Cheng Xianghui, Senior Partner of Equity and Director of the Industry and Training Committee
  • Huang Wenjuan, Senior Partner and Party Secretary of the First Party Branch
  • Lü Peize, Partner and Party Secretary of the Fourth Party Branch
  • Zhang Xueling, Party Office Director, who hosted the meeting
  • Li Yifei, Executive Director of Yingke Ruicheng Taxation in Xi’an, and Li Yanjun, Partner and Tax Advisor

Representatives from the following Taiwan universities also participated:

  • Soochow University
  • National Taipei University
  • Shih Hsin University
  • National Chung Cheng University
  • Ming Chuan University
  • Fu Jen Catholic University
  • Northwest University of Political Science and Law

Opening Remarks:
He Xiaobing welcomed the Taiwan scholars and students to the Yingke Xi’an Law Firm and briefly introduced the firm’s development and its “Three 100” strategic goals:

  • Establishing 100 domestic directly-operated branches
  • Establishing 100 overseas directly-operated institutions
  • Establishing 100 overseas cooperative law firms

He noted that the Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week has yielded fruitful results in fostering exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan’s legal academia and expressed hopes for closer ties and further collaborative activities. These would promote deep integration and development between the legal communities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Discussion Topics:
Legal experts and students discussed various topics, including:

  • Cross-Strait legal practice exchanges
  • Legal challenges and responses in the digital economy
  • The integration of artificial intelligence and law
  • Self-improvement and career choices for young lawyers

The discussions focused on exploring new pathways for integrating legal education with legal practice through mutual learning and exchange.

Calligraphy Cultural Exchange:
During the cultural exchange session, under the guidance of Cheng Xianghui, the participants collaboratively created a calligraphy scroll that read: “With Yingke for Long-Term Development, Strengthening University-Enterprise Legal Exchange, and Deepening Cross-Strait Integration and Development.” This marked the successful conclusion of the exchange event.
